COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT PROJECT

SDU under community empowerment program is implementing  an Income Generating Project (IGA) of bar soap making to the communities of Nyanga in Rubaare Sub county, the project is aimed at supporting 160 persons living with disabilities. The PWDS groups are given materials and skills of making soap as capital for their business.each group of 20 people requires Ugx. 2000,000 to cater for the trainer and materials to be used. SDU has so far supported two groups with 4,000,000 Ugx. and requires other UGX. 16,000,000 (US$ 4332.8) to cover the rest 6 groups The other groups 5 groups each with 30 people of PWDS preferred piggery project which require 150 piglets at 100,000 Ugx. totaling to Ugx. 15,000,000 (US$ 4062.04)

The main objective of this programme is to empower communities to be self sustaining hence reducing dependence syndrome and improve their livelihood conditions.
